DREAMING ON THIS MOUNTAIN

I’ve been dreamin’ on this mountain
Since first I was my mother’s daughter
And you just can’t take my dreams away
You may ride a big machine
But I was born a big strong woman
And you just can’t take my dreams away

This old mountain raised my many daughters
Some died young and some still livin’
But if you’ve come here to take my mountain
I ain’t come here to give it
Oh you just can’t take my dreams away

Oh the one thing I did right
Was the day I started to fight
Keep your eyes on the prize, hold on
And the one thing I did wrong
Stayed in slavery far too long
Keep your eyes on the prize hold on, hold on
Keep your eyes on the prize hold on

I’ve been dreaming on this mountain
Since first I was my mother’s daughter
And you just can’t take my dreams away
You may ride a big machine
But I was born a big strong woman
And you just can’t take my dreams away
(without me watching)
Oh you just can’t take my dreams away
(without me fighting)
Oh you just can’t take my dreams away……….
